The Visual Communication Design Program at Kent State University enjoys a standing as one of the most professionally respected and is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the United States. Degrees offered include a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree, a four and a half-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and a unique, five-year Bachelor of Science/Master of Arts combined degrees. Students possessing an undergraduate degree can pursue either a Master of Arts degree or the Master of Fine Arts degree. For over 35 years Kent State University was the only Ohio university offering the terminal degree in the field, and is still one of only two.
Carefully Selected Work History
This work history has been carefully selected in order to present the most relevant experience. If you are interested in non-design work history, remind me sometime to tell you about the summer I spent planting chestnut tree seedlings for 10 cents apiece.
Freelance work: I have been involved in doing independant freelance work since 1998. I take care of everything from initial client contact, site layout and design, building the site in html or flash, uploading it to a server and final billing. (Mostly my freelance involves web design, but when I am producing a print piece my responsibilities include getting the piece ready for press.) Dealing with clients without an account executive to act as a buffer is a character building experience. After 7 years, I have so much character I am expecting an offer for a TV series any day now.
