Aging gracefully: this project is 8 years old now, and still one of my favorites. Design is something that can go from trendy to dated in a season, but every time I look at this piece I think, "yep, still good." Plus, I got to work on it with one of the most talented designers I know, under the direction of an absolutely brilliant teacher. Great design, stellar company and fond memories ensure that this piece will always have a place in my portfolio.
This postcard was the first in a series of 3 mailings that were sent out by the AIGA Cleveland Chapter to announce an upcoming panel discussion. For the mailings, my design partner and I focused on items that provide information. The first teaser postcard was a fortune cookie, the second teaser postcard was a magic 8-ball, and the final mailing was a modified ouija board poster. You can't go wrong if you base your work on puns.
